AI/ML Engineer
The Opportunity:
As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on workflow processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support research and development for a key national defense client. As an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Engineer on our intelligence team, you'll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.
In this role, you'll own and define the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You'll be part of a large community of ML engineers across the company and collaborate with software developers and engineers as well as end users to deliver world-class solutions to develop and drive solutions to remote sensing issues for operations clients. You will be testing and driving AI/ML concepts and solutions for a data-intensive system. As data feeds continue to be brought online, the relatively fixed number of operators needs your help driving solutions. Your advanced skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. What You'll Work On:
- Design, build, and deploy NLP models for text classification, information extraction, and automated sorting.
- Develop and maintain machine learning pipelines from experimentation through production deployment.
- Create data visualizations, plots, and dashboards to communicate model outputs and analytical findings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate mission requirements into technical solutions and deliver client-focused products.
- Implement MLOps best practices, including experiment tracking, model versioning, and performance monitoring.
- Evaluate model performance, conduct A/B testing, and optimize algorithms for accuracy and scalability.
- Document technical approaches and communicate results to both technical and mission-focused audiences.

You Have:
- 3+ years of experience in delivering AI and ML-based solutions for object identification and classification
- 3+ years of experience with Python coding and libraries, including scikit-learn, spaCy, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
- Experience with Natural Language Processing for text classification, sorting algorithms, and NLP Model Development
- Experience with remote sensing image processing, data exploitation, and algorithm development
- Experience with software configuration management using Git
- Ability to execute machine learning models in a Linux environment
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with container technology, including Docker or Podman
- Experience with Databricks for ML workflows, including experiment tracking, model deployment, and Spark integration
- Knowledge of passive EO or IR systems
- Ability to work with limited guidance and clear direction
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with peers and clients
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science or an Engineering field, such as AI and ML Engineering, preferred; Master's degree in Data Science or an Engineering field, such as AI and ML Engineering a plus
