Job Description
ECS is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work Remote or in our Washington, D.C. area office.

This role will assist with research and requirements gathering to build custom applications that will be used across the department to share information and streamline processes. As the team continues to expand its team and customer base, the senior business analyst will be expected to assist with Agile processes/meetings, perform cross-team coordination, and investigate and present new technologies and initiatives.

About the Job:

  • Evaluate program materials and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
  • Document and analyze business and functional requirements so that they may be accurately translated into process maps and technical system requirements.
  • Create project schedules with dependencies and clear definitions of done that can be briefed out weekly to stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards, to include but not limited to basic system architectural diagrams, concepts of operations , monthly status reports.
  • Support the development of briefings, agendas, and other general documentation support as directed, including training material and demonstration sessions for new and existing technologies to various DHS stakeholders.
  • Create high-level briefings and communications materials for customers, management, and executive stakeholders.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Create and maintain process for Change & Configuration Management, including managing the specific changes as requested by the team.
  • Leverage Atlassian Suite (Jira/Confluence) to track project work and document information for the internal team and end users.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records of appropriate reference materials.
  • Evaluate program materials and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various team members to understand project requirements.
  • Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit , and determine the best solution for information presentation and user experience.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation.


Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000

Required Skills
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.
  • A Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in systems analysis and design of information systems programs and related business processes (SDLC).
  • Experience coordinating and driving teams to deliver complex technical implementations and systems integrations projects.
  • Experience gathering end user requirements and understanding business needs to implement a streamlined customer experience solution.
  • Experience working with fast paced teams using Agile processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desired Skills
  • Experience supporting, analyzing, and modernizing financial systems.
  • Help Desk experience and/or experience with daily customer interaction.
  • Hands on experience with Jira (creating tickets and workflows) and Confluence (creating portals).
  • Cloud migration, development, or coordination experience.
  • Federal government consulting experience.
  • Digital transformation experience with low code applications, business intelligence tools, and/or Robotic Process Automation.
