Overview
Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to be a key technical resource and act as a team lead for networking activities supporting the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC). This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
5+ years experience in network engineering and administration in the last seven years. HS diploma or GED. Network-related certifications desired. Experience prioritizing network outages, projects and tasks. Extensive experience providing technical assistance and resolution to teams in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair network infrastructure. Able to design and implement operational network systems and prototypes according to current and future engineering data and Government requirements. Extensive experience with routers; core, distribution, and access layer switches; firewalls; web content filtering devices; and intrusion detection/prevention (IDS/IDP) devices. Experience with cloud engineering and migration strategies. Able to communicate, coordinate and resolve technical issues with OneNet Engineering personnel within the entire DHS network topology including the DHS Data Centers (DC). Comfortable interacting with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of an organization to understand business needs and recommend technical solutions. Must have strong communication and organization skills. Must be a US citizen.

- Provide technical assistance and resolution to teams in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair network infrastructure.
- Design and implement operational network systems and prototypes according to current and future engineering data and Government requirements.
- Maintain enterprise network infrastructure at optimal performance levels while ensuring adherence to DHS and FLETC security standards.
- Collaborate with Network and System Engineers, equipment vendors, and other personnel to identify, define, and solve trending or developmental problems.
- Review and make technical recommendations to all Infrastructure Change Control Board (ICCB) packets prior to submittal and ensure recommendations are coordinated, understood, and implemented correctly during network rollouts.
