Embedded Software Engineer
Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor | Onsite in Huntsville, AL
Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off) | Position is off-post, not Redstone Arsenal
Join the Ground Support Systems (GSS) group supporting the GMD Weapon System (GWS) as an Embedded Software Engineer. You will play a key role on the Non-Tactical Equipment (NTE) team, developing and maintaining mission-critical software for missile defense applications.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for developing and implementing software updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team.

Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for developing and implementing software updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions with ingenuity and creativity
- Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment.
- Apply "systems thinking" to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs
- Collaborates with other software and systems engineers to determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems with program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance is required
- Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field from an accredited university and 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience (Or Master's and 6+ years of relevant experience)
- Extensive experience with:
- Developing object-oriented software in C#
- Embedded software development
- Experience using NUnit
- Experience with Moq Framework
- Experience developing software in a Windows environment
- Knowledge of SysUML
- Familiarity with Atlassian and Agile software development practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Software Engineering or a related field
- Missile Defense domain knowledge
- Active CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
