Job Description:
Orbis is seeking candidates for work on a professional services contract in support of Commander Naval Air Forces (CNAF) Aircraft Carrier Readiness Support. Orbis provides Professional Engineering Assistance, which includes Engineering Technical Expertise, Engineering Graphic Solutions, Configuration Data Management, Environmental Engineering, and Hazardous Waste/Material Handling to ensure the protection of personnel and the environment. Orbis also delivers Production Control Functions, Material and Logistical Coordination, Quality Assurance, and Computer-Related Capabilities. These efforts aid USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) class aircraft carriers in matters related to readiness, maintenance, modernization advance planning, work package development and integration, and work package execution.
Required Skills and Experiences:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering is required to include five (5) years aircraft carrier experience in any one (1) of the following disciplines: Marine Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Naval Architecture, and
Two (2) years of recent experience supervising within the last five (5) years engineers or trades.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (i.e. Marine Mechanical Engineering, Marine Electrical and Electronic Engineering; or Naval Architecture) required with an accredited four-year college or university.
OR
10 years' experience related to aircraft carrier systems operation, maintenance, testing, advance planning, logistics, and engineering to include:
Five (5) of the 10 years design or operational experience in any one (1) of the following disciplines: Marine Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Naval Architecture.
Two (2) of the 10 years direct design or operational experience with aircraft carrier main propulsion, auxiliary, electrical, Damage Control(DC), aviation, or electronic (Information Technology (IT) and Combat Systems (CS).
Two (2) of the 10 years direct design or operational experience with main propulsion, auxiliary, electrical, DC, or electronic (IT and CS) for naval aircraft carriers.
One (1) of the 10 years direct experience in Naval Nuclear Propulsion secondary plant systems or non-nuclear interface systems and verifiable knowledge of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI).
Two (2) of the 10 years supervisory experience involving direct control or responsibility over subordinate groups working in engineering disciplines in design or operational environments.
Degree Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (i.e. Marine Mechanical Engineering, Marine Electrical and Electronic Engineering; or Naval Architecture) required with an accredited four-year college or university
