MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented AWS Customer Onboarding Engineer to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a 100% remote position.
The AWS Customer Onboarding Engineer will be supporting an ambitious endeavor to reimagine how our customer, Naval Sea Systems, provides AWS cloud services to its customers. This includes helping existing applications and new ones migrate and/or be built in AWS.

The AWS Customer Onboarding Engineer will be supporting an ambitious endeavor to reimagine how our customer, Naval Sea Systems, provides AWS cloud services to its customers. This includes helping existing applications and new ones migrate and/or be built in AWS.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct technical kickoff meetings and follow-on meetings in support of AWS adoption
- Gather requirements and distill them into future state architecture diagrams and other documentation
- Collaborate with other engineers in the creation of Infrastructure-as-Code (OpenTofu) for environment/application deployment
- Consult with prospective customers and provide architectural guidance that aligns with AWS best practices
- Participate in Agile ceremonies as a member of a highly functioning Agile engineering team
- Create, maintain, and update other relevant system documentation as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant experience completing tasking relevant to cloud engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related STEM discipline OR a High School Diploma and 8+ years of relevant experience completing tasking relevant to cloud engineering
- Must have an associate-level AWS certification (ex. AWS CSAA) or be willing to get one within 90 days of hire
- Must obtain a DoD 8570 Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire
- Some familiarity with base AWS data-related services (Aurora, Redshift, RDS, Quicksight, etc.)
- Ability to script in one or more of the following computer languages: Python, Bash, or Perl
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate
- 1+ years of Terraform experience
- Experience working with GitHub or similar system and Git
- Experience in a consulting position or background
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen and possess and active Secret security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
