The Senior Virtualization Engineer will be the primary subject matter expert (SME) for the Omnissa Horizon platform, with duties including:
• Design and Architecture: Lead the architectural design, documentation, and deployment planning for major upgrades and enhancements to the existing Omnissa Horizon infrastructure.
• Deployment and Maintenance: Perform hands-on installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, and continuous maintenance of the Omnissa Horizon suite and all associated components (e.g., Unified Access Gateway, App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager).
• Troubleshooting and Optimization: Provide Tier 3/engineering-level support for complex VDI issues, focusing on performance tuning, resource optimization, and ensuring maximum availability and end-user experience.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive design documents, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and 'As-Built' documentation for the entire virtualized environment.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure the VDI environment adheres to all FBI security policies, compliance requirements, and government mandates related to virtualization and desktop
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A minimum of 6 years of direct, professional experience in engineering and maintaining complex, enterprise-scale Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
• Demonstrated experience with the design, deployment, and operational support of Omnissa Horizon (or equivalent prior VMware Horizon) environments.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred; relevant experience and certifications may substitute for the degree.
CERTIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification, specifically in the Desktop and Mobility track (VCP6-DTM or newer VCP-DTM equivalent), is required.
• Specific Omnissa Horizon Certification (or prior VMware Horizon certification) is highly preferred.
