The Senior SATCOM Engineer will have the ability to demonstrate a complete understanding of frequency engineering, principles, theories, and concepts. In this role, the Senior SATCOM Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and support of the integration of SATCOM Systems with Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) infrastructures. The Senior SATCOM Engineer will provide advanced technical support for Satellite communications systems infrastructure, the maintenance of new and established links, the cross-functional communication with providers and ground stations, etc. Additionally, the SATCOM Engineer develops and maintains documentation, ensures compliance with frequency and landing rights policy and regulations, maintain standards with SATCOM protocols, and manages projects related to the upgrade and enhancement of satellite communication equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Manages the Tier 2, Tier 3, and Engineering levels of O&M support for advanced RF systems.
- Provides detailed reports related to theater spectrum issues, after troubleshooting, identifying the root causes, and resolving SATCOM related issues.
- Proficient in the following spectrum management tools: Spectrum XXI, Process supportability requests through the Host Nations Worldwide Spectrum Database Online (HNWSDO), the Joint Spectrum Interference Reporting System Online (JSIRO)
- Manages SATCOM support services during contingency, exercise and day-to-day operations as well as administration and technical support for military operations
- Receives, reviews, processes, and submits MILSATCOM and Commercial SATCOM requests
- Tracks requests and coordinates with commercial, government, and military offices for system approvals
- Maintains, reviews, and validates MILSATCOM and Commercial SATCOM records with operators
- Provides training to US forces on how to submit MILSATCOM and Commercial SATCOM requests
- Maintains awareness of MILSATCOM and Commercial SATCOM systems and network status, report and support service on current and potential impact to forces and coordinate re-allocation with SATCOM resources with commercial, government, and military offices as needed
- Reviews Operational Plans and annexes to validate SATCOM requirements and support service on gaps, shortfalls, and potential solutions
- Facilitates the Joint Satellite Architecture Working Group and develop, review, and consolidate operational requirements and restoral priorities for government approval
- Supports the operation and maintenance of GBS equipment and provide training and technical support to all GBS users
- Provides Theater Information Management Support to both residents and transient forces
- Coordinates with the staff and the GBS program office and provide integration, planning support, and recommendations for current and future GBS operation within the theater
- Provides EMSO support service during contingency, exercise and day-to-day operations, to include administration and technical support for military operations
- Maintains and validates records of requested and allocated frequencies and approved equipment in government systems of record
- Supports electromagnetic spectrum technical coordination with the US and Local Frequency Managers
- Supports verbal translations for technical coordination between the Joint Frequency Management Office and other external agencies
- Identifies, analyzes, evaluates and report potential spectrum conflicts and electromagnetic interference
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Telecommunications Management or Seven (7) years or more of similar training and/or experience in Spectrum Management
- Must have and maintain a Secret clearance with eligibility for a TS/SCI
- Must possess a working Knowledge of ACES/JACS, SPEED, and RTSO software
- Must be familiar with spectrum analyzers such as the PR200 and Spectrum Guard Pro
- Must be familiar with CARS and possess working knowledge of the Joint Integrated SATCOM Tool (JIST)
Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience.
- COCOM or Service level Joint Frequency Management Office (JFMO) level experience
- Graduate of either U.S. DoD military frequency management school
