Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Systems Test Engineer or Systems Engineer to join our diverse team, working on the Base Operations NETwork (B-NET) portfolio of programs in Huntsville, Alabama. The selected candidate will support the B-NET Test team for an Army Air Defense System that includes defense against Rockets, Artillery, and Mortar (RAM); unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become an expert in the operation of the Base Operations NETwork (B-NET)
- Become an expert in connecting the B-NET System to various sensors, weapons, and forensic gathering systems
- Develop and execute System Test Plans involving B-NET
- Clearly explain and document (verbally and in writing) problems and improvements of the B-NET
- Coordinate, explain, develop, and execute hardware, software, and environmental test procedures for NG mission assurance and government test witnessing
- Prepare technical presentations for management and the government customer
- Support the integration and test of the B-NET system with other systems at various tests around the world
- Work with the development teams to correct or improve capabilities
- Verify successful integration of B-NET with interfacing systems
- Travel up to 25% of the time
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating the integration and testing of software
- Systems Engineer - Bachelor's degree in STEM (and 2 years of relevant experience; or 0 Years with Masters)
- Principal Systems Engineer - Bachelor's degree in STEM (and 5 years of relevant experience, or Masters and 3 years, or PhD and 0 years)
- Experience creating test scenarios to test new functionality and verify requirements
- Able to multi-task and demonstrate strong time-management skills
- Demonstrated ability to function in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed steps in order to ensure tests are completed and products delivered
- Ability to read and interpret system level requirements
- Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Strong mathematics and statistics aptitude/experience
- Experience with public speaking in order to present test material directly to customers
- Ability to work with diverse technical, programmatic and user communities, supporting the modernization, capability development, integration and test of an Army network environment
- Current DoD Secret clearance
