Duties
The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities within one of three major work functions (Aircraft Generation Division, and the Equipment Maintenance and the Component Repair Branches of the 153d Maintenance Squadron's (153 MXS) Aircraft Maintenance Division.
All three work functions are organized with several subordinate supervisors due to the scope, volume, and complexity of operations. The work involves the total maintenance of complex, high performance military aircraft, ranging from multi-purpose heavy, multi engine transport to the most modern sophisticated fighters and bombers. All aircraft are fully integrated in and are part of the Total Force Mission of the United States Air Force. Occupations supervised are somewhat similar, in that they all involve maintenance of assigned aircraft to ensure combat readiness; they are dissimilar in their organizational location, as well as the functional areas, occupational series, and the diversity and complexity of systems for which each function is responsible.
1) Plans for the overall allocation of personnel, funding and equipment resources to the organizational segments supervised to accomplish work operations which, because of their scope, volume, complexity, operational tempo, and total force integration must be planned on an annual or longer basis.
2) Coordinates and directs the work of units supervised. Assigns and explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines. Balances workload for subordinate work groups.
3) Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by them.
4) Implements safety regulatory requirements.
5) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises, and Operations Other Than War (OOTW).

May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial and one-year supervisory probation period.

PCS costs are not authorized. Must be willing to relocate at own expense if selected.
Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.

Area 6: Current military service members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

Must possess experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; and experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
Must also possess experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting parts, subassemblies and components and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
