MTSI is seeking to hire a dedicated and detail-oriented Security Specialist to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with government security regulations, safeguarding sensitive assets, and maintaining security policies. The ideal candidate will have experience with DoD security standards, personnel security processes, and risk assessments while demonstrating a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to DoD security regulations and policies like NISPOM, RMF, and ICD 705.
• Process and monitor security clearance requests using systems like DISS or JPAS, and oversee access control procedures for classified systems and facilities.
• Conduct regular security audits, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation measures.
• Oversee physical security programs, including badge systems, facility access controls, and safeguarding classified materials.
• Investigate, document, and report security incidents while implementing corrective actions.
• Help develop and enforce security protocols and conduct training sessions to promote security awareness among employees.
• Prepare, maintain, and submit accurate security documentation and records as required by organizational and government standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal Justice, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3-5 years of experience in a security-focused role.
• US citizenship and an active secret level security clearance required.
• Strong knowledge of DoD security regulations (e.g., NISPOM, RMF, ICD 705).
• Proficiency in managing personnel clearance systems such as DISS or JPAS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in risk assessments and physical security programs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or CPP.
• Experience in classified environments.
• Familiarity with insider threat programs and supply chain security.
• Knowledge of Linux or other operating systems used within secure environments.
