SDA is seeking a motivated Junior Technical Editor with strong writing and editing skills to support the creation and improvement of technical documentation across our organization. This role focuses on producing clear, accurate, and user-friendly content while collaborating directly with development and technical teams.
Responsibilities
Write, edit, and format technical documents, including user guides, manuals, and process documentation.
Utilize multiple tools to create base templates and adjust output styles for consistency and quality.
Design and deliver developer-focused documentation in collaboration with software and development teams.
Review the usage and effectiveness of the knowledge management system and update knowledge base articles as needed.
Create job aids and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incident and problem resolution.
Develop and maintain a repository of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications.
Ensure documentation aligns with IT standards and supports organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
2+ years of experience in technical writing, editing, or similar documentation roles.
Experience with documentation tools, template creation, and output style manipulation.
Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and common IT terminology.
Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and maintain documentation libraries.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous exposure to cybersecurity or IT environments.
Familiarity with knowledge management systems.
Ability to collaborate in a remote, team-oriented setting.
