Overview
SDA is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Editor to support our team by creating, refining, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation. This role requires advanced writing and editing skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with developers, engineers, and cybersecurity professionals.
Salary Range
$85,000, based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, write, and edit a variety of technical documents, including user guides, SOPs, job aids, and developer-focused documentation.
Work directly with development teams to design, update, and deliver clear and accurate documentation.
Use multiple authoring tools to create base templates and customize output styles as needed.
Review and evaluate the organization’s knowledge management system, enhancing knowledge base articles for clarity, accuracy, and effectiveness.
Support incident and problem resolution documentation by creating job aids and SOPs.
Maintain a comprehensive repository of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications.
Apply a strong understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related IT terminology.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams; prior cybersecurity experience is a plus.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
8+ years of experience in technical writing, editing, or documentation development.
Proven experience developing clear, accurate documentation for technical audiences.
Strong proficiency with documentation tools and template development.
Ability to translate complex technical content into user-friendly information.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting cybersecurity or IT programs.
Familiarity with RMF, NIST frameworks, and related IT terminology.
Experience working with knowledge management systems.
Work Location
Fully Remote (U.S.-based)
