Responsibilities

Arcfield is seeking a Senior Lead Systems Engineer to deliver Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support on the ground systems infrastructure program. In this role, you will play an important part in the development, integration, and sustainment of technical capabilities across a mission-critical, agile-focused environment.

This position offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced systems engineering and Agile DevSecOps expertise across enterprise platforms and applications supporting customer mission needs. You will work closely with Government technical leads, enterprise platform owners, and multi-contractor Agile teams to drive requirements refinement, support architectural assessments, and guide integration planning across complex, interconnected systems. As a Systems Engineer Lead, you will also mentor junior and mid-level systems engineers, provide guidance on engineering best practices, and help shape cohesive, high-quality systems engineering support across the portfolio.

Roles & Responsibilities include:

  • Engineering Leadership: Lead end-to-end systems engineering activities across architecture, requirements development, integration, verification and validation (V&V), and transition-to-operations for enterprise platform and application environments, serving as a technical advisor to Government leadership.
  • Agile Requirements Management: Drive and oversee requirements development, participate in increment planning, feature reviews, acceptance criteria definition, participate in developer's sprint planning sessions, backlog refinement, ensuring alignment with program objectives, DevSecOps practices, and enterprise architecture constraints.
  • Provide systems engineering support across the full development lifecycle, including architecture development, CONOPs refinement, requirements decomposition, integration planning, verification and validation considerations, and transition-to-operations readiness.
  • Mentorship & Team Guidance: Provide mentoring, coaching, and quality oversight for systems engineers, reinforcing best practices, consistency across engineering artifacts, and supporting skills growth across the team.
  • Lead technical exchange meetings working within a multi-contractor team, provide clear, concise, and technically defensible reporting and recommendations to Government stakeholders, author technical briefings, provide decision inputs, and review formal artifacts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with Poly
  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7: preferably Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline
  • Demonstrated understanding of the end-to-end systems engineering and integration lifecycle and the processes, tools, and artifacts used in the development and management of complex systems, including requirements management and analysis, architecture, system design, implementation, verification, validation, test, transition to operations, and maintenance
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding and mentoring systems engineering teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAFe agile methodology, agile planning and management concepts, and Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)
  • Accomplished written and oral communicator, with the ability to develop various products in multiple formats, and lead and capture technical discussions and outcomes
  • Demonstrated analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, security integration, and automated testing frameworks.
  • SAFe Agile certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with systems integration or V&V strategies for enterprise IT systems.
