About the Role
We are seeking highly skilled Automation Technicians to support mission-critical power, automation, and energy infrastructure projects across secure federal environments. This role involves hands-on integration, testing, and maintenance of power management, control systems, and automation platforms. Candidates must meet clearance requirements and be comfortable working in high-security facilities with strict safety and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, maintain, and support power distribution and energy management systems.
Participate in system design review, commissioning, integration, and lifecycle support.
Troubleshoot and analyze electrical systems such as:
Switchgear
UPS systems
Power meters
Automation controls
Conduct testing, validation, and performance checks to ensure compliance with standards.
Prepare technical documentation, as-built packages, and reporting.
Attend client meetings, site assessments, and quality inspections.
Support multidisciplinary engineering and field teams to meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements.
Promote and maintain a strict safety-first work environment.
Role Scope May Include
Installation and configuration of SCADA, EPMS, or PLC-based automation systems.
TCP/IP network configuration and communication troubleshooting.
Setup and configuration of Modbus communication devices and gateways.
Reading and interpreting vendor manuals, schematics, and system specifications.
Working with power-related hardware such as PDUs, ATS, generators, STS, UPS, and battery systems.
Using monitoring systems for real-time data, trending, and system performance.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Management, Automation, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in energy systems, electrical distribution, or automation/control systems.
Knowledge of low and medium-voltage systems, SCADA, PLC, or EPMS platforms.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or equivalent.
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and relevant electrical codes.
Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain Yankee White clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting federal, industrial, or data center environments.
Industry certifications (e.g., PMP, NICET, LEED).
Experience with EPMS/SCADA systems or PLC programming.
Advanced Path Opportunity
