Job Description Summary
Job responsibilities require both independent, self-directed efforts, as well as team efforts working together with engineers and other technicians. You will work closely with our engineering and technical team to build prototype systems and test apparatus, and run tests. You will also be responsible to support the building, operation, and maintenance of test facilities and equipment. Applications for our development efforts include advanced aircraft and propulsion systems, sensing and control systems, as well as high energy systems.

You will be expected to have the ability to support the testing engineers and to assist in building mechanical and fluid systems with knowledge of machine parts, electronics wiring, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, actuators, drive motors, and control systems. You will work with high pressure systems, vacuum systems, pressurize liquid fuel systems, and high-flow rate compressors. Some travel to external facilities (GE or customer) may be needed to support programs.

You will perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the Innoveering buildings, facilities, and equipment including compressors, pumps, power supplies, custom built lab equipment, and associated hardware. The job will require moderate lifting of hardware up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and forklift operation.

In support of testing activities, duties will include test cell and test article preparation, involving instrumentation, ignition and fuel system installations. Active participation during test campaigns will include pre- and post-test activities, working through checklists.

General housekeeping duties will also be expected. Including, but not limited to, the arrangement of tools and equipment, organization of storage areas, and overall lab cleanliness, such as sweeping and mopping your general work areas. Additionally, specialized cleaning of parts and equipment shall also be performed as required, such as the O2 cleaning of parts.

Job Description

Essential Qualifications:
  • Performing fabrication, assembly, installation, diagnosis, repair and modification on hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, vacuum, and gas systems associated with test equipment.
  • Performing functional and operational tests to check out new and/or repaired units.
  • Coordinating with engineers in planning, laying out and making mechanical modifications to test positions and units according to accepted standard practices in order to develop more practical arrangements in this equipment from a functional or service standpoint.
  • Furnishing supplementary sketches or diagrams to aid in accomplishing such mechanical modifications, as required.
  • Performing periodic preventive maintenance, as directed.
  • Performing tube bending and flaring, assembling Swagelok fittings, soldering, minor sheet metal work, incidental to the work described herein.
  • Using hand tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, height gauges, and operates portable power tools and machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, pedestal grinders, drill presses, band saws, and belt sanders etc. incidental to the work described herein
  • Working from primary design drawings, prints, schematic flow diagrams, sketches or the other diagrams, verbal and/or written instructions requiring considerable interpretation and application of shop theory in visualizing and determining the most practical procedure to follow for the work described herein.
  • Reworking, refurbishing, and modifying parts and equipment as required for the work described herein.


Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma and or Equivalent (GED)
  • Min 3 Years Mechanical Technician Experience
  • Must have worked from blueprints, primary design drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on buildings, facilities, and equipment including compressors, pumps, power supplies, custom built lab equipment, and associated hardware.
  • Ability to provide moderate lifting of hardware up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and forklift operation.
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.


Desired Qualifications:
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. secret clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


The base hourly pay range for this position is $68,640 - $83,200. This opportunity is eligible for OT. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This posting is expected to close on January 15, 2026.
