Abrasive Blaster

We have an exciting opportunity for Abrasive Blasters at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine that is starting in March!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must hold active Secret security clearance
• Must hold SSPC C-7 or NAVSEA-approved equivalent certification in abrasive blasting.
• A minimum of 2 years performing abrasive blasting operations on commercial or U.S. Navy ships/submarines.
• Experience with both interior and exterior surfaces, including tanks, hulls, superstructures, and other ship components.
• Must have OSHA 10
• Knowledge of abrasive blasting hazards and safe practices, including in confined spaces.
• Must be trained in lead, cadmium, chromic acid/chromium, and arsenic handling, and mixed solvents.
• Ability to set up, operate, and maintain abrasive blasting equipment.
• Proficient in surface preparation and application of coatings to critical areas per NAVSEA standards.
• Ability to accurately use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.

HOURS:

• May work 8,10 or 12 hours shifts determined by the project.

PAY:

• $30 Hr +
