Job Summary

B&A is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Software Engineer SME to design, develop, and optimize integrated hardware and software solutions. The ideal candidate will excel in Agile and/or DevOps/DevSecOps environments, leveraging advanced computing architectures and intelligent algorithms to solve complex, mission-critical problems. This role focuses on cybersecurity, high-performance computing (HPC), and the application of machine learning (ML) or artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize integrated hardware/software systems for mission-critical applications.
  • Apply Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps methodologies to enhance collaborative workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop high-performance computing (HPC) code and implement ML/AI solutions to address complex engineering challenges.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues across hardware, software, and network layers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including systems engineers, cybersecurity experts, and data scientists, to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Conduct performance analysis, modeling, and optimization to ensure scalability, reliability, and security of systems.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 5+ years of professional experience integrating hardware and software in Agile and/or DevOps/DevSecOps environments.
  • 1+ year of professional experience in HPC code development and implementing ML or AI solutions (preferred).

Required Skills
  • Strong expertise in integrating hardware and software systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure system design.
  • Proficiency in high-performance computing and software optimization.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system integration issues.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Desired Skills
  • Experience developing machine learning or artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Familiarity with advanced computing architectures and HPC frameworks.
  • Background in large-scale, mission-critical system integration.
  • Experience contributing to technical documentation, design reviews, and knowledge transfer.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies to drive innovative engineering solutions.

Security Clearance
  • Active Secret Clearance

Certifications
  • One of the following DOD IAT-Level III Certifications: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH.
