About The Role
The Senior IT Field Technician will provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and equipment in support of the FAA BNATCS contract. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments while ensuring that FAA BNATCS contract end-users have reliable access to technology resources for the IT infrastructure to operate smoothly.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
The Senior IT Field Technician will provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and equipment in support of the FAA BNATCS contract. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments while ensuring that FAA BNATCS contract end-users have reliable access to technology resources for the IT infrastructure to operate smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
On-Site Support
- Travel to client or company locations in Northern Virginia to diagnose and resolve IT issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware (computers, printers, mobile devices) and software.
- Provide support for networking equipment, cabling, and connectivity issues.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance on IT systems and equipment.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.
- Act as the primary point of contact for end-users requiring field support.
- Communicate technical solutions clearly and effectively to non-technical users.
- Maintain professionalism and build strong relationships with clients and staff.
- Record service requests, resolutions, and equipment inventory.
- Provide feedback on recurring issues to improve IT processes.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8 years of experience or Master's with 6 years of experience. An Associate's may be considered with 2 additional years of experience (for 10+ total)
- 6+ years of IT support experience, preferably in a field technician role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), networking basics, and common enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
- A valid driver's license is required for this role.
- While this is a remote capable position- candidates must be willing to travel to multiple sites in the local DC/Maryland/NoVA local area as necessary.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) is beneficial.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional are a plus.
