Our client is seeking a Test Equipment Software Engineer to support the Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) team within the Specialty Engineering Directorate. This group develops advanced Windows application solutions supporting a wide range of defense products. All work is fully onsite in Tucson, AZ.

TEE engineers design, build, integrate, and maintain mission-critical software used in engineering labs, manufacturing environments, and fielded weapon system support. This role supports on-site factory systems, contributing across the full engineering lifecycle—from demonstrations and early engineering tests to design verification, production, and sustainment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and maintain Windows-based software applications, libraries, and instrument drivers.
Develop object-oriented software in C# and C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio.
Support engineering and production test equipment for weapon system products.
Troubleshoot software and instrumentation issues in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Work independently and within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Create, derive, and document software requirements.
Lead and mentor junior software engineers as needed.
Develop software drivers for computer hardware interfaces.
Work with common communication protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422.
Apply UML for architecture and design visualization.
Utilize software development lifecycles such as Waterfall and Agile.
Follow Software Configuration Management practices using Azure DevOps Server or GitHub.
Support all phases of product development for weapon system programs.
Required Qualifications

Active DoD Secret Clearance.
STEM bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience OR STEM master’s degree with 3+ years.
Strong object-oriented development experience in C# and/or C++.
Experience building Windows OS applications in Microsoft Visual Studio.
Experience troubleshooting software and instrumentation.
Experience developing or supporting test equipment, engineering systems, or factory systems.
Hands-on experience with hardware/software integration.
Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, or RS-422 protocols.
Preferred Skills

Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
Experience developing hardware interface drivers.
Familiarity with computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques.
Experience with UML modeling.
Experience with Azure DevOps Server or GitHub for SCM.
