- Operate and maintain systems in a UNIX-based enterprise environment
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system configurations across multiple UNIX platforms
- Perform routine system monitoring, log review, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Implement and maintain network services, storage, and backup/restore processes
- Apply OS patches, software updates, and configuration changes following established security controls
- Support scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar UNIX-friendly tools
- Ensure system integrity, availability, and compliance with security requirements (e.g., STIGs, access controls, auditing)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support deployments, upgrades, and environment optimization
- Document system procedures, architecture, and operational changes
