Duties

  • You will be the principal consultant and advisor on all matters related to the efficient operation and management of the Information Technology division.
  • You will exercise the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in assigning and directing the work of subordinate staff.
  • You will provide advice, counsel, and instruct employees on work and administrative matters, hear and resolve employee complaints, refer grievances and more serious complaints to higher management, and recommend disciplinary actions.
  • You will be responsible for command Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance and lead IT specialists in resolving problems with appointed Information Assurance Officers and System Administrators.
  • You will oversee IT security and Information Systems Security, managing protective measures such as file access controls, software and physical safeguards, and personnel/visitor control at central and remote sites.
  • You will be responsible for the operation and qualifications of the Command Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) responsible for the development of employees in these qualifications.
  • You will be responsible for carrying out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates.
  • You will perform financial management duties such as budgeting, programming, execution, performance monitoring, provide technical guidance and oversight on IT procurements ensuring compliance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS).

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (SUPERVISOR IT SPECIALIST), proficiency level (INTERMEDIATE) and required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • IAM Level II Security certification is required per DOD 8570-1.M change 2 or be able to obtain within 12 months of accepting this position.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience In providing Information Technology (IT) to achieve operational readiness through effective management, operation and control of command IT resources.
  • Experience in staffing, customer service, network planning, installation and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Experience in DoD/DON Information Assurance programs.
  • Experience in databases and website maintenance including ensuring effective control and security.
  • Experience with Equal Opportunity policies, employee development and training.
  • Experience in and must be qualified as part of Cybersecurity Workforce and is responsible for the development of employees in these qualifications.
  • Experience in financial management and budget controls for their division.
AND
