SUMMARY :
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the training program manager by planning, implementing, and administering the installation civilian base training program based on Air Force and MAJCOM criteria and policy.
DUTIES :
1. Manages the civilian training program and performs all phases of the planning, implementation and administering the installation civilian base training program based on Air Force and MAJCOM criteria and policy.
2. Administers and manages all phases of the planning and implementation of the civilian training budget which is responsive to immediate and long range needs and goals of the installation.
3. Use multiple office automation applications - produces a wide range of documents in various formats with varied computer applications.
4. Coordinates the civilian training fund program.
5. Performs education and training support in other program areas. Provides assistance, guidance and expertise in one or more education and-training programs, operations and functions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.

Knowledge of DoD education and training rules, concepts, techniques, procedures, and operations related to on-the-job training (OJT), Career Development Course (CDC) administration, career field education and training plans, Specialty Training Standards (STSs), and Course Training Standards (CTSs).
2. Knowledge of the organization's operations and functions sufficient to evaluate information gathered from various sources to determine quality, accuracy, and applicability.
3. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations, retrieve and Input data, and maintain accurate files. Ability to use one or more established computer program/software (Microsoft Office) to enter, maintain, sort, and retrieve organizational and/or program data. A qualified typist is not required.
4. Knowledge of a wide variety of budgetary methods, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and precedents; and the accounting system and related documents used to gather and analyze budgetary information.
5. Skill in applying basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve conflicts and determine adequacy for deficiencies in the program.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.
