Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Virtualization Engineer to join our team in Radford, VA. The Virtualization Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain VMware-based hyperconverged environments for hosting Army enterprise and tactical applications, ensuring security, scalability, and performance across global sites.
Responsibilities of the Virtualization Engineer include:
• Develop and maintain AECC architecture in collaboration with government engineers
• Deploy and sustain VMware products using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Administer VMware components, including patching and upgrades
• Monitor virtualization resource utilization and recommend capacity adjustments
• Harden VMware products per cybersecurity controls and best practices
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for hosting platform issues
• Create and maintain system diagrams, network topology, and process documentation
Qualifications for the Virtualization Engineer include:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in an IT-related field
• Senior-level experience with VMware suite (ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Foundations, ARIA Automation)
• Strong automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills
• Proficiency in troubleshooting across network, storage, server, and applications
• Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IA Tech Level II certification
• DoD Secret clearance
Compensation for the Virtualization Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
