In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes skilled in protecting the total IT infrastructure and environment, systems security certification and accreditation requirements and processes, as well as federal IT, information system. In addition to skilled in applying policy, planning concepts, regulations, polices Clinger-Cohen Act, develops and implements solutions with performance metrics to determine effectiveness and efficiency to the Security program.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.

- Knowledge of system function, security policies, and technical security safeguards in order to serve as AODR/technical advisor to the AO.
- Mastery knowledge of, and skill in applying DoDI 8500.01 (Cybersecurity); DoDI 8510.01 (RMF for DoD IT); AFI 17-101 (RMF) to Air Force and Space Force IT systems.
- Knowledge of IT theories, principles, concepts, standards, practices, and emerging issues sufficient to develop new IT security theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods for the organization.
- Knowledge of analytical, evaluation, and re-engineering methods to be able to determine technical, financial, and programmatic implications of potential cybersecurity risks to the system and associated networks.
- Knowledge of project/program management principles, methods, and practices including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements in order to apply and extend, enhance, or optimize the existing architecture.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of governmental personnel on cybersecurity sensitive and technically complicated IT issues, and to develop and implement requisite integrated IT security and capital planning policies.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships to coordinate with external organizations, such Air Staff, CYBERCOM, DoD and other external agencies.
- Skill in leading and managing personnel to perform the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties.
- Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate agency-level cybersecurity or information security programs and strategies in response to critical IT security issues and coordinate the implementation of security program initiatives across platforms.
- Ability to develop, adapt, and apply IT security strategies, methods, and policies to address emerging technology issues and cyber threats.
