General Function:
- Support day-to-day engineering management activities and coordinate with AFLCMC, base support offices, security, IT, foreign disclosure, travel, public affairs, test organizations, and building managers to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Provide engineering support across acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment.
- Deliver technical assistance to IPTs on Operational Safety, Suitability & Effectiveness (OSS&E) and review ECPs, RFVs, and maintain configuration baselines.
- Participate in Technology Insertion efforts, CCBs, technical reviews, programmatic reviews, and assist with failure analysis to improve system RMA.
- Support lifecycle analyses, investment strategy development, system design, manufacturing, sustainment, and end-of-life processes using DoD and AF engineering principles.
- Translate user requirements into system requirements and support development/review of system design baselines, architectures, and interoperability requirements.
- Assist with reviewing proposals, specifications, and ICDs, while supporting IPT meetings, TIMs, design reviews, audits, and IPRs.
- Support requirements development, including technology needs, mission analyses, trade studies, and development of system concepts.
- Provide system design support, including mission evaluation, requirements documentation, and participation in technical reviews and test readiness reviews.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate change proposals and policy-driven modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility.
- Assist with specification development and review, including system and equipment specifications, CDRLs, ICDs, and conduct system design/feasibility analyses.
- Support development and evaluation of IMP, IMS, SEDS, engineering cost estimates, and testing plans; participate in system/subsystem/component testing.
- Provide systems/subsystems integration support throughout acquisition, development, and verification activities.
- Support lifecycle cost, performance, risk, maintainability, reliability, and schedule trade-off studies across system lifecycles.
- Coordinate with management and provide support to committees and boards to resolve engineering issues and execute technical decisions.
- Evaluate and analyze data items such as specs, drawings, proposals, SOWs, cost estimates, and reports.
- Prepare and evaluate engineering documents, support systems engineering assessments, review testing plans, identify risks, and prepare/brief program status materials.
- Provide technical planning for training systems, apply advanced engineering concepts, support major proposals, and assist in bed-down planning at CONUS/OCONUS sites.
- Deliver technical support including feasibility studies, trend monitoring, risk assessments, meeting participation, evaluation of training/test materials, and source-selection technical support (non-voting).
- Assist with development and management of SCGs, PSDs, TA/CPs, PPPs, AT plans, facility security documentation, export control integration, and proper records management.
- Support the Program Protection Program by maintaining the PPP database, identifying CPI/SCRM issues, assessing threats/vulnerabilities, and recommending cost-effective security countermeasures integrated with system design.
Qualifications:
Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
- MA Degree and at least 10 years of experience in the related field, 5 of which must be with the DoD, OR, BA Degree and at least 12 years of experience related to the position requirements, 5 of which must be with the DoD, OR, 15 years of directly related experience, 8 of which must be with the DoD.
- Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Secret level.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project).
- Must be able to perform all functional duties independently.
- Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
