The Site Engineer supports hardware and system installation activities for mission-critical defense environments. This role focuses on preparing, documenting, and implementing site hardware plans while ensuring compliance with DoD design and installation standards.
You will conduct on-site surveys, support rack and equipment layout development, and assist in the integration of servers, workstations, and network hardware across secure facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site surveys to prepare for hardware installations.
Develop and implement engineering plans for equipment deployment.
Prepare rack elevations, cabling diagrams, and layout drawings using MS Visio.
Assist in integrating rack-mounted servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
Perform hardware requirement analysis (heat, weight, power, airflow).
Review DoD drawing standards and ensure compliance.
Resolve assigned tasks with limited guidance.
Coordinate with engineering, installation, and configuration teams.
Required Skills
Knowledge of systems/hardware engineering principles.
Experience with rack-mounted computing equipment.
Understanding of network fundamentals (routers, switches, firewalls).
Familiarity with drafting practices and DoD drawing requirements.
Proficiency creating technical diagrams in MS Visio.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Juniper hardware.
Prior DoD facility or installation experience.
Additional Information
Must be willing to travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations.
100% onsite due to classified environment.
