The Site Engineer is a mid-level engineering role supporting the deployment, analysis, and integration of hardware systems across secure defense environments. This role requires technical leadership, hands-on installation experience, and strong communication skills to support engineering activities across multiple sites.
You will lead site surveys, support system installation efforts, develop rack designs, and ensure that deployed systems meet performance, safety, and DoD compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on-site surveys and prepare installation plans.
Develop rack designs, cabling diagrams, and DoD-compliant technical drawings using MS Visio.
Support installation and integration of servers, workstations, and network devices.
Analyze power, cooling, heat, and weight requirements for hardware deployment.
Provide technical oversight of system hardware integration.
Troubleshoot installation and configuration issues during deployment.
Present findings, plans, and technical approaches to leadership and engineering teams.
Required Skills
Strong hardware/system engineering experience.
Experience designing rack layouts and equipment diagrams in MS Visio.
Solid understanding of networking concepts (routers, switches, firewalls).
Familiarity with DoD drawing requirements and field installation standards.
Experience performing site surveys and installation planning.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Juniper hardware.
Prior experience deploying hardware in secure DoD facilities.
Additional Information
Must be willing and able to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites.
100% onsite due to classified nature of work.
