Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Airborne Multifunction Sensor Division is seeking a Senior Engineering Director 2. This position will be located in Baltimore, MD and will lead the Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) Engineering team, reporting to the AMS E&S Vice President. As the Senior Engineering Director 2, this position will be responsible for leading a highly dynamic, growing discipline or execution aligned engineering team.

Primary Level Salary Range: $231,100.00 - $346,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Lead the technical and / or program execution roadmap strategy development for Airborne Multifunctional Systems.
- Lead organizational transformation initiatives that elevate technical and/or execution aligned capability, operational agility, and culture.
- Champion innovation, modern engineering practices, and advanced digital engineering approaches.
- Prioritize engineering investments aligned with strategic imperatives.
- Influence across functional, program, and customer environments to drive mission success.
- Build strong, trust-based partnerships with program management, operations, supply chain, strategy, and business development.
- Drive sector and corporate initiatives, including digital transformation, process improvements, and compliance with enterprise strategies.
- Develop technology strategy and roadmaps across BUs, divisions, and sectors.
- Collaborate with Business Engineering Lead to foster a consistent organization.
- Ensure the business is appropriately staffed and enable resource sharing across multiple business areas.
- Drive engineering strategy and practice pertinent to all of the E&S AMS portfolio, including but not limited to investments, talent strategy, and product lines.
- Lead strategic actions to improve the business of engineering .
- Work with cross discipline engineering team members across the Sector.
- Grow the headcount with continued, strong focus on retention efforts, engagement initiatives, critical skills/critical needs, and diversity.
- Drive key talent development and workforce planning efforts .
- Prioritize engineering investments aligned with strategic imperatives.
- Collaborate with functional partners to resolve complex issues in a timely manner to help meet program commitments.
- Regular travel, based on business needs to the various sites where AMS has presence.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree with 12 years of experience, or a PhD with 10 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.
- U.S Citizenship is required.
- A current / active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain Special Program Access.
- 10 years of professional experience in the defense or aerospace industries.
- 5 years demonstrated success managing multiple technical teams across multiple geographic sites.
- Working knowledge of Staffing, Engineering Metrics and Training resources, processes, and tools.
- Demonstrated experience effectively leading diverse technical teams across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering process and tailoring.
- Independent Review Team leadership with cross discipline stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields.
- Experience developing technology strategy and roadmaps across BUs, divisions, and sectors.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance or higher
- Experience leading a single or multi-discipline organization (SWDT, SEIT, or HW).
- Prior profit and loss leadership experience (e.g. PM, OUD, IPT with >$100M workscope, etc.)
- Success as a leader of an organization > ~600 employees.
- Proven success in creating and executing affordability initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience executing the capture phase of the program lifecycle.
- Experience leading large functional organizations.
- Experience managing large control accounts.
- Experience with product line management.
