This position is contingent upon the program award expected by year-end 2025.
This role is first of the Vehicle Operations & Engineering (VO&E) team on the new Water Moccasin program. The responsibilities of this role require:
• Team startup activities such as procedure and training development for the VO&E team
• 2-hour recall response for anomalies as directed by customer
• Alignment of Flight Operations Procedures, Tools, and Training support with Vehicle Engineering Maintenance and Anomaly Resolution support
• Expectation to augment C2 Shift Operations (shift certification and cadre support)
• Operations Support and Vehicle Engineering expertise for anomalies, test activities, tool development, and automation initiatives
• Standard Operational Procedure development
• Structured Ops/VE certification & training program leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Computer based Trainings (CBTs)
• Automation of Ops Support functions (e.g., procedures, training, and CM)
• Predictive performance metrics and trending of real-time and historical spacecraft data
• Routine/preventative/corrective maintenance (including calibrations & database changes)
• Assurance of mission performance
• Support to simulators, engineering studies, crisis/conflict, and end-of-life activities
• Timely and accurate anomaly response
• Efficiency mindset - aligned with Lean Operations philosophy (operational success balanced with continual resource optimization. It is a constant goal, and a comprehensive philosophy that extends beyond automating 24/7 operator activities; it includes all functions where every manual activity is an optimization opportunity)
• Participate in and/or lead working groups and make presentations/recommendations to customers and the leadership team on detailed technical aspects of the system
Candidate should have vehicle maintenance/operations experience, advanced communication skills, and a strong desire to help the greater team be successful.

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years Space mission operations experience (ex: real-time flight operations, anomaly resolution or system performance analysis)
• Experience with spacecraft anomaly response/resolution
• Experience with subsystem trending tools and metrics
• Leadership experience of a technical team as team lead, project lead, or formal leader
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to varying levels of employees, management and customers
• Ability to multi-task, especially to perform multiple assignments while meeting competing deadlines
• Must have an active TS/SCI clearance and CI poly
Desired Skills:
• Experience developing automated solutions on systems originally built without automation
• Experience developing procedures and training material
• Experience utilizing a breadth of software platforms/languages: Python, PERL, Linux, AWS, etc.
• Previous experience with a customer base on a program for complex systems, software development, and issue resolution
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Enjoys working in a team environment and collaborating with people in different functions
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
