Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support automated testing and validation for complex software systems in a secure environment. This role will focus on building robust test frameworks, validating APIs, and ensuring quality across distributed architectures. This position will be hybrid in Arvada, CO !
Responsibilities of the SDET include:
• Design and implement automated test suites for end-to-end validation using Playwright or Cypress
• Develop and maintain test scripts in Python and work with TypeScript/JavaScript for front-end testing
• Validate and troubleshoot APIs, distributed NoSQL and relational databases, caching systems, and event-driven architectures
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, preferably using GitHub Actions
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure test coverage and quality standards across containerized and serverless applications
• Support verification and validation for complex software systems in mission-critical environments
• Maintain version control and code quality using Git and GitHub
Required Qualifications for the SDET:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of professional experience in software testing, backend development, or DevOps (or equivalent self-driven technical experience)
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress
• Strong knowledge of containerized applications, serverless architecture, and CI/CD automation
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and version control systems
• Active U.S. Security Clearance ( Secret required; TS/SCI preferred )
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with distributed systems and multi-tier architectures
• Knowledge of API testing tools and performance optimization strategies
• Exposure to mission-critical or regulated environments
Compensation for the SDET includes:
• Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 depending on experience
