Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a TS/SCI Cleared Flight/Ground Systems Integration Engineer to support a government customer responsible for developing and integrating software Command & Control solutions for satellite vehicles in Los Angeles, CA.. Your primary responsibility will be integrating new satellites and flight software into our clients mission management platform and their mission of simplifying operations and allowing our customers to utilize their satellites like servers! This is a HYBRID role with 2-3 days in-office in Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities for Flight/Ground Systems Integration Engineer:
· You will bring or build expertise with C2 concepts and common industry standards and protocols such as CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, XTCE, and MIB.
· You will work with, "low-level integration of satellite protocols," referring to working directly with the foundational layers of communication and control between ground systems and satellites.
· You will act as the bridge between mission management software and the satellite's flight software, ensuring that all protocol-level communication works flawlessly. Think of it as building the plumbing that allows higher-level applications to send commands and receive telemetry without worrying about the underlying complexity.
· Focus on Low level integration between FSW and ground systems (protocol layer)
· Software development and detailed technical debugging of these concepts.
· Taking an ICD (Interface Control Document) into C2 solutions or COSMOS is a core part of what this role does as it's about translating documented interface specifications into actual, working command-and-control implementations

· Pay Range: $130,000 - $170,000 (based on years of experience and education)

Qualifications for Flight/Ground Systems Integration Engineer
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java
- Experience developing real-time embedded software and/or integrating hardware assets with mission management software
- Understanding of C2 concepts and protocols such as CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, XTCE, and MIB.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub or a similar framework for version control
- Versed in FSW/Flight Software and Ground Systems (Protocol layer)
