Heavy Equipment Mechanic

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in Powidz, Poland. The selected candidate will provide maintenance support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performs maintenance, inspection, and repairs on a wide range of military vehicles and equipment, including wheeled vehicles, heavy equipment, and potentially armored vehicles.
• Key duties involve diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions, performing Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS).
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of qualified automotive maintenance/mechanical experience (including one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle) and High School Diploma or GED.
• Proven maintenance experience with repair and technical experience, background in military operations or maintenance.
• Experience with maintenance support to include operations, system troubleshooting, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
• Experience with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters.
• Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver's License for the location in which the work will be performed, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Passport valid for at least one year beyond the start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.
• Experience on HMMWV, FMTV, HEMTT, PLS, Trailers, and Power Generation Equipment.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
• Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
• Must be able to work in high noise areas.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
• Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
