Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes developing innovative strategies for technology deployment to enhance operational effectiveness, maintaining a robust security posture in compliance with Air Force cyber policies, and collaborating with team members to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve network challenges.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Professional knowledge of computer science principles, concepts and practices applicable to a wide range of duties associated with informational systems software design and development activities. Requires a four year degree in computer science or related field. Ability to modify standard practices and adapt technique,; to solve a wide variety of interrelated problems to adapt precedents and make departures from previous approaches to similar projects in order to provide for specialized requirements. Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems, and identify changes and trends. Skill in applying analytical and evaluate techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Ability to participate in study teams; originate new Ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established time constraints. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiates complex Issues; and maintains good working relations.

Ideal Candidate
- Expertise in Linux and/or Windows Server administration, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Proficient in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-based solutions) with experience in VM creation, management, and migration.
- Skilled in scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation of system administration tasks and infrastructure management.
- Solid understanding of storage solutions (NetApp) and file system management.
- Ability to implement and maintain robust backup and recovery solutions.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Nagios, Zabbix, ELK stack, Splunk) for proactive system health management.
- Proficient in reviewing, interpreting, and implementing DISA STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides).
- Ability to harden network infrastructure and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and regulations.
