Duties
Help
  • You will disassemble and assemble major aircraft components, such as control surfaces and landing gear, for overhaul or modification by following detailed procedures.
  • You will perform repairs by removing and replacing worn or damaged parts like gaskets, hydraulic lines, and fuel cells.
  • You will install, align, and adjust aircraft systems, assemblies, and components according to established guidelines.
  • You will inspect, disassemble, and reassemble aircraft parts and accessories, including armament mounts, hydraulic components, and environmental control systems.
  • You will use common hand tools, measuring devices, and test equipment to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • You will work as part of a team under the direction of senior employees to assist with complex operations like jacking aircraft or installing engines.
  • You will assist with operational checkouts on the flight line, using hand signals to communicate with pilots and inspecting engines for leaks.
  • You will perform flight line support duties such as standing fire guard during engine starts and operating ground power equipment.
  • You will perform minor preservation duties, including inspecting aircraft for leaks and lubricating landing gear components.
  • You will service aircraft systems by flushing contaminants, replacing desiccants, and obtaining oil samples for analysis.
  • You will perform basic corrosion control, prepare aircraft for washing, and install protective coverings.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position requires near vision correctable at 14" to Jaeger 2. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20. Eye protection is required in hazardous areas in the form of glasses w/side shield and face shield.
  • This position is subject to various noise levels, which continuously exceed 85 DBA. Hearing protection must be worn for noise levels of 85 DBA.
  • The job requires physical exertion requires moderate lifting and carrying of objects up to 40 lbs.
  • This position requires overtime and rotating shift work.

Additional information

The job requires physical exertion requires moderate lifting and carrying of objects up to 40 lbs. Tasks will be performed standing, sitting, and walking. At times, pulling, pushing, stooping, and reaching are required with prolonged kneeling, bending, and squatting for four to six hours.

Position is subject to various noise levels, which continuously exceed 85 DBA. Note: Hearing protection must be worn for noise levels of 85 DBA.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
