Software Engineer

BOAB Ventures is seeking a UI/UX Engineer to support an Advanced Technology Software Engineering Team working at the cutting edge of national-level scientific advancement. In this role, you will collaborate directly with physicists, superconducting foundry engineers, and software engineers to bring next-generation technologies to life. This position is fully on-site at the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) in Linthicum, MD.

Responsibilities

Design intuitive and effective UI/UX solutions to maximize user adoption of new software products

Engage with end users to identify and implement design improvements that reduce engineering effort

Partner with software engineering teams to plan, scope, and execute UI/UX enhancements without impacting fast-paced project milestones

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 8+ years of experience

Working knowledge of C++ or WinForms

Experience developing UI/UX interfaces for legacy applications

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

Experienced software developer capable of supporting backend development in addition to UI/UX

Hands-on experience developing WinForms applications and supporting complex legacy systems

Ability to excel independently and in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team

Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
