JOB TITLE: JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary:
The Junior Accountant will assist in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounting team with daily operations. This role involves preparing voucher entries, reconciling accounts, creating workpapers as well as validating charges and accounts. As a small company you may be required to assist with month-end and year-end close processes as well as supporting financial and Government audits. This role is to ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Support with travel expense processing
- Perform general ledger accounting, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support business operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
BASIC REQUIRMENTS:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the aerospace/manufacturing industry
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Deltek Costpoint
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous internship or work experience in accounting
- Self-motivated and proactive mindset with a desire to learn and grow within the organization.
- Familiarity with Federal Government Contracting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
