Blu Omega is seeking an Application Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and modern cloud solutions supporting Public Health data modernization initiatives. In this role, you'll architect, optimize, and guide the delivery of cloud-based platforms that enable more effective data sharing, analytics, and decision-making across Public Health networks.
You'll apply your expertise in enterprise-level platform design for a scalable solution. You will work closely with engineers to bring product requirements to implementation and production. This role is ideal for an architect who thrives on technical leadership, mentoring teams, and solving complex engineering challenges that directly advance national Public Health outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable user applications hosted in the cloud to enable Public Health data modernization
- Architect and deploy enterprise applications and services in AWS and hybrid environments
- Guide development of applications using .NET, Entity Framework, and SQL across cloud and on-premise systems
- Partner with data modernization teams to align cloud strategies with mission priorities and technical standards
- Lead and advise engineering teams through development
- Develop and enforce best practices for security, performance, and unit testing
- Research and recommend emerging cloud technologies to improve scalability and resilience
- Mentor team members in architecture design, automation, and development operations best practices
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience designing, configuring, and administering enterprise applications in cloud environments
- 4+ years of experience developing with .NET, Entity Framework, and SQL
- 4+ years of experience developing secure, cloud-based architectures and adhering to engineering and cloud governance standards
- Experience architecting and deploying solutions in AWS and hybrid cloud environments
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting IaaS environments and Linux/Unix-based systems, including shell scripting
- Proficiency with CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions
- Proven ability to lead technical teams with strong technical communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- HS diploma or GED
Nice to Have:
- Experience optimizing cloud cost management and implementing governance frameworks
- Familiarity with CDC processes, data modernization efforts, and federal IT environments
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Solution Architect (Associate/Professional) or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
