Blu Omega is looking for a Front End React Developer to join a CDC modernization initiative focused on advancing public health data analytics and reporting. The application ingests and processes large volumes of healthcare data from hospitals and facilities nationwide-tracking infections and supporting predictive analytics to enhance healthcare safety.
Location: 100% remote, but must travel to a CDC facility for piv card pickup

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and unit test front-end applications using React, KendoReact, and Webpack within a Module Federation micro front-end architecture deployed in Azure.
- Build modular, reusable React components and front-end libraries to ensure scalability and maintainability over time.
- Analyze existing codebases, identify areas for improvement, and implement updates following best practices focused on performance, accessibility (Section 508 compliance), and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with back-end developers to integrate UIs with microservices.
- Conduct Section 508 accessibility testing using tools like Axe DevTools or equivalent.
- Utilize Microsoft Copilot to accelerate development cycles and improve code quality through AI-assisted coding and unit testing.
- Refactor and optimize code continually to enhance efficiency and clarity.
- Participate in peer code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and sharing technical knowledge.
- Engage actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, manage tasks using Azure Boards, and demonstrate completed work during sprint reviews.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional front-end development experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Proven experience with Webpack, KendoReact, or similar front-end frameworks.
- Strong understanding of micro front-end architecture and modular component design principles.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services and DevOps tools.
- Proficiency in accessibility standards (Section 508) and testing tools.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies and using tools like Azure Boards or JIRA.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed team environment.
