DESCRIPTION

Position: Technology Protection Specialist

Location: Orlando, FL

Clearance: TS/SCI

The Technology Protection Specialist (Cyber Security) will serve as direct support to multiple Army initiatives. They will be responsible for conducting threat identification, vulnerability analysis, risk evaluation, and employing countermeasures and development recommendations to assigned initiatives. Candidate must possess a strong communication ability to work with other Engineers to troubleshoot design challenges and create unique solutions for our customers.

The Technology Protection Specialist will conduct program assistance, including Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments and Critical Functions (CF) analysis, threat identification, vulnerability analysis, risk evaluation, and countermeasures development recommendations to the assigned Cross Functional Team(s) (CFT). Plan, collect, analyze, and review scientific and technical data across the Army designated modernization priority areas for each CFT.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

Threat Assessment Support

  • Support threat intelligence studies and assessments in areas including, but not limited to, development, production, and life cycle management of modernization capabilities and Army Futures Command (AFC)-supported technologies supporting development of the CFT Program Protection Implementation Plan(s).


  • Identify and recommend actions needed to meet high priority requirements and tasking assigned to the CFT. Track and participate in RTP regular occurring and non-recurring meetings; document and in a CPI assessment/survey memorandum, AARv / EXSUM, in the Access database, and as part of the monthly status report.


Program Protection Plan Review Support

  • Support Army program protection planning processes and application of horizontal protection in Army-led joint research and acquisition efforts by updating and maintaining the CFT Acquisition Security Access Database.


  • Assess complex systems or capabilities for RTP integration (e.g., platform and payload, test and evaluation, and field operations) and provide recommendations for improved RTP solutions.


  • Develop, maintain, and update documents in an access database for use on a classified AFC operated SharePoint site and provide a tracking matrix on the status of all programs supported (i.e., program milestone, PPP status, type of assessments conducted. Assess effectiveness of threat data support RTP.


Vulnerability Assessment Support

  • Concept Development activities, Projects, Programs, and Program Manager's Programs; Record and Urgent Operational Needs. The assessment shall also identify how the AFC can improve the RTP assessment process and provide recommendations to modify the threat data production process.
  • Assist development, coordination, and implementation of policy and guidance for RTP processes and Security and Intelligence functions. Assess, refine, and implement improved program protection processes for CPI assessments and CF analyses, as approved by the Government, and work to improve threat and vulnerability analysis, risk evaluation, and countermeasure development.
  • Provide all RTP lessons learned and any quality improvement to business services provided on a regular basis, as improvements identified. Identify, report, and, upon Government approval, integrate horizontal protection "best practices" into Army efforts. Survey the AFC and determine the quality of RTP support provided and steps needed to address RTP process shortfalls.


REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • S ecurity Clearance: Must be a US citizen and have a minimum of a n (active) Top Secret/SCI security clearance .
  • Bachelors' Degree (engineering, computer science, political science), and six (6) to eight (8) years of relevant experience, at a minimum. In lieu of a degree, 10-12 years relevant experience .
  • Existing Certification in one of the following IAM categories, per DoD 8570 Baseline Certifications: CAP | CND | Cloud+ | GSLC | Security+ CE | CASP+ CE | CISM | CISSP (or Associate) | CCISO | CISM
  • Demonstrated commitment to producing outstanding work that balances the need to provide customer service as well as efficiency in keeping processes moving
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a n Access Database
  • Demonstrated ability to interface and maintain legacy records and documentation via SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to create after action reports and executive summaries with clear actions and recommendations from lessons learned.
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills; able to successfully and effectively liaise with people within and across departments in a multi-cultural environment; confident communicator that can drive consensus-based decisions ; Must be capable of articulating thoughts, ideas, and opposing points of view through all forms of communication with both internal and external government agencies
  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully and to own initiative, with flexibility to changing priorities and an eagerness to learn under pressure
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity to various issues; and to advise on organizational performance, strategic planning, and interact with high-level government officials
  • Solid computer and technical experience and knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite, database management (and e-learning tools, such as learning management systems and web seminar delivery tools)
  • Participate in data gathering, workflow documentation and process/practice redesign efforts


Desired Qualifications:

  • One of the following CSSP Incident Responder Certifications: CEH | CFR | CCNA Cyber Ops | CCNA-Security | CHFI | CySA + | GCFA | GCIH | SCYBER
  • Proficient in crafting all types of correspondence to reach their target audience with clarity and comprehension to include the senior management level Must be skillful in giving briefs, guidance, and assistance on all communication security issues, policies, procedures, and methodologies to a diverse audience
  • Forward/big-picture thinker
