Job Title: IT Procurement Specialist (Acquisition Management Support I – AMS1)
Location: Dahlgren, VA (with potential support to NSWCDD detachment sites)
Clearance Required: Secret (favorably adjudicated personnel security investigation)

Organization: Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Corporate Operations Department, IT Division (Code 104)
Position Overview:
NSWCDD’s IT Division is seeking a skilled IT Procurement Specialist to provide acquisition management support for classified and unclassified IT operations. The role focuses on IT procurement, hardware and software acquisition, vendor management, and supporting IT lifecycle management efforts to meet the objectives of NSWCDD’s digital transformation and IT Service Management (ITSM) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess IT hardware and software needs and develop procurement strategies to meet organizational requirements.
• Conduct market research, acquire vendor quotes, and prepare IT purchase requests using Navy Information Technology Approval System (NAV-ITAS).
• Negotiate with suppliers to maximize value through discounts, shipping efficiencies, and SLA compliance.
• Place and track purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of IT equipment.
• Conduct quality control audits on procured IT hardware and document any issues or malfunctions.
• Collaborate with IT, finance, and operations teams to align procurement plans with organizational goals.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and update tracking systems.
• Support acquisition management initiatives for senior-level executives, including program analysis, record management, and valuation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT procurement or acquisition support, including preparing procurement packages, conducting market research, and managing vendor quotes.
• Skills: Strong computer, finance, analytical, and organizational skills. Familiarity with IT procurement systems and IT lifecycle management is preferred.
• Clearance: Secret, with favorably adjudicated personnel security investigation.
Desired Attributes:
• Ability to implement procurement strategies and plans independently.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to Navy/DoD procurement guidelines.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and ensure alignment with IT support and operations goals.
