Experience: Minimum 5 years professional experience in cyber threat analysis, incident response, and advanced cybersecurity operations

Overview:
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Hunt Specialist to provide expert-level cybersecurity support as part of a classified and unclassified IT operations and Information Management (IM) contract. NSWCDD is focused on delivering advanced warfare systems to protect the nation and defeat adversaries. The Cyber Hunt Specialist will support IT Service Management (ITSM), cybersecurity, digital forensics, incident response, and threat intelligence operations to strengthen and safeguard NSWCDD’s network infrastructure and mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct advanced cyber threat hunting to identify, analyze, and mitigate complex threats across NSWCDD networks.
• Participate in all phases of incident response using methodologies such as the Kill Chain, Diamond Model, and Pyramid of Pain.
• Provide expert support to Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) teams, including threat intelligence operations.
• Keep current with emerging cyber threat trends, advanced actor TTPs, exploits, and telemetry refinement techniques.
• Design, implement, and manage security mechanisms to protect networks and information systems from attacks, breaches, viruses, and unauthorized access.
• Investigate cyber incidents, recommend corrective actions, and ensure continuous improvement of security posture.
• Support ITSM practices, endpoint management, enterprise applications, and operational IT support in compliance with NAVSEA, DoD, and DON policies.
• Assist in digital transformation initiatives to standardize, optimize, and automate cybersecurity and IT processes.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mathematics with CS concentration, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in cyber threat analysis, cybersecurity operations, or digital forensics.
• IAT Level II certification (per DoD 8570.1M) required.
• Deep understanding of advanced actor campaigns, exploits, and telemetry refinement.
• Experience supporting classified and unclassified networks in highly secure environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL®, DESMF, DevSecOps, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and incident response best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary IT and technical teams.

Preferred Skills:
• Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms and endpoint management solutions.
• Knowledge of enterprise application development and support.
• Experience with digital transformation, automation, and operational optimization initiatives.
