The Work
The Cyber Systems Security Engineer is responsible for configuring and administering network information security for classified and unclassified IT system networks. You will lead the integration of modern cybersecurity solutions across multiple radar system programs, playing a critical role in ensuring our systems are both effective and resilient in the face of evolving threats.
Key responsibilities include:
Determine technical requirements and implement proper system configurations for networks and operating systems.
Perform system vulnerability assessments and assist with the development of network and radar system architectures.
Translate system network requirements into network architecture and implementation plans for radar systems and supporting infrastructure.
Generate high-quality network documentation, including network diagrams, Ports, Protocols, and Services Matrix (PPSM), data flow diagrams, and related materials.
Security Lifecycle Oversight:
Evaluate network design development to ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 technical controls and program requirements. Lead and implement network designs to achieve and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) for radar systems and supporting technologies.
Candidates must exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities, be strong team players, and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Please note: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret-level clearance.

Who You Are
As a Cyber Systems Security Engineer, you are a highly skilled and motivated professional with a passion for defense technology. You bring a proven track record of success and expertise in networking and cybersecurity. You have a solid understanding of network routing and switching, associated network protocols, and NIST 800-53 Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) technical controls. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Basic Qualifications:
DoD 8570 Level II compliant certification (CompTIA Security+ or higher)
Experience administering network devices from various manufacturers
Experience designing and configuring network routing and switching and associated network security architectures
Experience integrating network devices into tactical weapons systems and/or other classified networks
Desired Skills:
Network professional certifications (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP, Network+)
Knowledge of and experience with NIST 800-53 controls and the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Experience with system administration of Linux and/or Windows systems (desktop and server)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $82,900 - $146,165. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
