In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Using IT INFOSEC security principles, concepts, practices, systems software, and database software, (2) applying computer capabilities and limitations, peripheral equipment, software configuration, automated data processes, and networking standards, (3) working with extensive body of rules, procedures, policies, and processes covering funds management and financial transactions, and (3) analyzing, planning, and adjusting work operations of multiple organizational segments to meet program requirements.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit copies of your college transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of IT INFOSEC security principles, concepts, practices, systems software and database software enables safe daily operations of the unit.
2. Knowledge of computer capabilities and limitations, peripheral equipment, software configuration, automated data processes and networking standards.
3. Knowledge of an extensive body of rules, procedures, policies, and processes covering funds management and financial transactions.
4. Knowledge of Local Area Network security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry.
5. Skills to perform arithmetic computations and functions.
6. Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations of multiple organizational segments to meet program requirements and ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Help
- Serves as the primary Information Technology systems point of contact. Uses knowledge of IT principles, security regulations and local policies to support 16 agents locally as well as personnel at their OL-Ain Monterey California site.
- Serves as the AFOSI Detachment 804 Financial Resource Advisor. Uses an extensive body of rules, procedures, policies, and processes covering funds management and financial transactions as squadron budget and finance resource advisor.
- Serves as the detachment liaison for investigative matters and office support. Analyzes, plans and adjust work operations of multiple organizational segments to meet program requirements.
- Performs system administration, conducting systems, Local Area Network (LAN), and TEMPEST monitor for Classified IT networks duties. Provides guidance to detachment users on the technical aspects of the AFOSI automated systems, to include configuration management; database development and management; cybersecurity; user account management; printer and peripheral management; user access, connectivity, and monitoring of required network servers; and application software releases.
