We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) to lead the development and implementation of Program Protection across the full System Development Lifecycle. This role involves designing secure architectures, conducting threat assessments, developing protection strategies, and ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of Program Protection throughout the SDLC
Assess systems for Critical Program Information (CPI)
Conduct trade studies and develop Program Protection requirements
Design and implement robust security architectures
Perform threat analyses, including attack/countermeasure assessments
Conduct Verification & Validation (V&V) activities
Serve as a subject-matter expert in Program Protection
Draft Program Protection Plans (PPPs), Cybersecurity Strategies, and Security Classification Guides (SCGs)
Collaborate with customers to define requirements, evaluate solutions, and assess system impacts
Utilize RMF A&A processes (Steps 1–4) and develop Body of Evidence (BoE) packages
Process A&A packages and support RMF accreditation of Platform IT (PIT) systems
Support NSA Type 1 certification for cryptographic high-assurance devices
Work with NSA High Assurance products, IASRD, and SERD requirements
Contribute to requirements development, design, testing, configuration management, and system maintenance
Support policy development for emerging security technologies
Assist in evaluation, testing, and delivery of security architecture improvements and vulnerability remediation projects
Conduct Security Testing and Verification activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant ISSE experience
OR Graduate degree with 10+ years of experience
OR 16+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Active Secret Clearance required (TS/SCI preferred)
Professional experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8140 (or NIST 800-181) certification within 6 months
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cyber defense and vulnerability assessment tools such as ACAS and SCC
Familiarity with NSA High Assurance products and cryptographic certification processes
