This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $276,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

What you will get to do:
As the Mission Engineering Architect, you will develop mission-oriented system of system solutions that support the evaluation of strategic deterrent systems and technologies for increased operational effectiveness across a variety of missions. Role:
Lead the overall technical strategy of Mission Engineering, including:
- Understanding customer's mission objectives, gaps and constraints through partnership with internal and external stakeholders
- Development and implementation of the overarching mission engineering approach, including supporting processes for addressing AP R&D objectives
- Collaboration with AP, Division, and Sector Product Line Architects to develop mission engineering requirements, technology gaps, and opportunities
- Assure quality and integrity of the developed models and simulations including testing, evaluation, and performance characterization
- Identification of critical technology gaps and investment priorities
- Expand domain expertise in mission engineering and strategic deterrence, serve as an enterprise-wide asset for SE thought leadership, and connect NG technologies to mission outcomes.
- Collaborate across sectors in pursuit of technology awareness to identify opportunities to potentially share resources and/or capabilities and increase cost savings.
Responsibilities
- Ensure both customers and the team have a clear understanding of the mission concepts and requirements
- Leverage NG capabilities and products that meet customer needs
- Develop system of system solutions
- Identify stakeholder technology needs for investment prioritization
- Improve efficiency through solution products that are readily transitionable to both DoD service and intelligence community stakeholders
- Maintain feedback loop and ensure alignment with the larger mission
- Coordination with SMEs with expertise in the Mission area of interest
- Facilitate cross-sector collaboration in support of developing mission-oriented solutions for deterrence
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 14 years' experience; 12 years' experience with a Masters' degree in STEM; or 10 years' experience with a PhD.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance
- 4 years of Systems Architecture Development including System of Systems
- 4 years of Mission Engineering with Multi-Domain Systems
- 4 years of Operational Analysis using AFSIM, STK toolsets
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 12 years of experience in systems and product development.
- Special Access Program (SAP) Current
- Capture experience, business development strategy development experience
- Leadership experience with product development and/or production program execution
- Experience leading technical teams
