Job Description
• Under the Enterprise Pier Connectivity Architecture (EPCA) team as a Network Engineer maintaining and troubleshooting ITN system(s) moored between vessel and shore for the United States Navy on Pearl Harbor.
• Verify/troubleshoot network availability between pier riser positions and ITNs through loopback testing.
• Verify/troubleshoot ATM, T1, and GIG network availability between vessel and ITNs.
• Performs Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning and uploading results to Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM)
• Performs Cybersecurity requirements and implementation of security controls (STIG compliance).
• Configure/Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN for the department of the Navy for over 1,000 users.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- When there is a Vessel scheduled for either arrival or move, the UCA team goes out and connects the fiber to the Vessel. Once connected, they call the engineer to check if the network is up. The engineer will check if the Vessel is up on either GIG, ATM or T1. If they are up, there good to go, but if not the engineer will have to create a ticket on HPSM.
- A day before the arrival or move, there is a loopback test done. UCA team goes out to the pier and connects the loopback and calls the engineer to see if they can see a connection. If GIG, ATM, and T1 is up it is good to go, but if not UCA team will troubleshoot with engineer.
- Check ITN’s (Routers) hourly for connection and redundancy.
- ACAS scans both class and unclass, once a week.
- Patching vulnerabilities from the scan results
- Network refreshing and troubleshooting experience (Cisco exp. preferred)
