Day to Day Responsibilities:
Independently creating computational fluid dynamics models, putting in runs, and changing parameters related to the interceptor system. This will also involve grid generation and meshing. Our team is utilizing a tool called Ansa for this modeling.
Required Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
• Proficiency in CFD grid generation and meshing
• Experience with CFD preprocessing and solving tools
• Demonstrated experience with Loci/CHEM and ANSA
• Background in missile or space systems, ideally with hypersonic applications
Desired Skills:
• Hands-on experience performing CFD analysis using Loci/CHEM
• Expertise in CFD grid generation using ANSA and AFLR3
• Experience with aerothermal environment generation
• Knowledge of missile staging and venting analysis (e.g., 2-Box, CHCHVENT)
• Familiarity with supersonic and hypersonic weapon systems
• M.S. or PhD. in aerospace engineering with hypersonic focus
