Overview:
We are seeking a Senior .NET Software Engineer to support mission-critical development efforts for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). This role is 100% onsite and ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented engineer who excels in stable, long-term environments. You will contribute to innovative solutions that directly impact NGA’s Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) mission. Candidates with GIS or geospatial systems experience will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain .NET-based applications supporting NGA’s GEOINT workflows.
Collaborate with analysts, system engineers, and stakeholders to translate mission needs into functional software solutions.
Implement secure, well-structured, and scalable code following industry and NGA standards.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing functionality to ensure reliability and mission readiness.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for development within a classified, controlled environment.
Work onsite daily in a collaborative environment with a focus on consistency, communication, and team stability.
Required Qualifications:
Strong experience in .NET development (C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET).
Experience with object-oriented design, API development, and modern software engineering practices.
Ability to work fully onsite and collaborate effectively in a structured, secure setting.
Demonstrated stability and commitment in previous roles — this environment requires consistent, non-“jumpy” candidates.
U.S. citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), or spatial data processing.
Familiarity with ESRI, ArcGIS, PostGIS, GDAL, or similar geospatial tools and technologies.
Experience supporting DoD or intelligence community programs.
Knowledge of secure coding practices and working within classified environments.
