Position Summary
The Cloud Cybersecurity Architect supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The Cloud Cybersecurity Architect will lead the design, implementation, and governance of secure cloud solutions for Northern Technologies Group. This role is responsible for developing and enforcing cloud security architectures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud-based systems and data.

Position Summary

The Cloud Cybersecurity Architect will lead the design, implementation, and governance of secure cloud solutions for Northern Technologies Group. This role is responsible for developing and enforcing cloud security architectures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud-based systems and data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Be responsible for driving cybersecurity policies and procedures at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
- Support the expansion of multi-cloud adoption in addition to on premise technologies such as containerization, VDI, etc.
- Assist with tool set configuration for current and future tools.
- Work with other functions and teams to ensure projects meet expected security controls, reference architectures and security by design principals.
- Advise senior government clients regarding the development and improvement of cybersecurity governance policy and processes, A&A activities, and security architecture reviews across the IT enterprise.
- Take ownership of program activities including cybersecurity policy and directive development (writing and leadership/client socialization), the analysis of security program challenges and solutions, and the development and leadership of a governance maintenance program.
- Provide security guidance and requirements to various technology teams on methods for driving security into every aspect of systems delivery.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert for security standards and architectures.
- Evaluate and determine fit of new and emerging technologies and the cybersecurity implications of implementation.
- Identify and mitigate risks, perform security reviews, design top tier security practices, and deliver strategic, innovative security solutions.
- Participate in design review of implementations of services in the cloud, including analysis of threats and risks and alignment with the agency's security, Engineering, IT and Architecture standards.
- Stay apprised of current and proposed security changes impacting compliance with regulatory and security industry best practices.
- Must have a current DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II certification or higher.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must have 10, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
- May be reduced with completion of bachelor's degree in: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or similar STEM discipline.
- Must have 8 years of directly related experience working with cybersecurity related applications in an enterprise environment.
- Must have 4 years of experience in management or leadership roles
- Must have experience designing network cybersecurity related architectures spanning across an enterprise environment.
- Must have a strong understanding of security design and architecture with ability to identify solutions to complex IS
- compliance and security problems.
- Must have demonstrated leadership experience with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Must have experience mentoring multiple cross-functional teams supporting various efforts.
- Have experience with DISA STIGs (OS, Applications, and Network)
- Be knowledgeable of Tenable/Nessus Security Center, DoD HBSS/ESS McAfee, SIEM, C2C, and/or Zero Trust
- Have experience with Agile, Scrum, HW/SW life cycle management
- Have experience performing technical reviews of new emerging technologies
